Why it is so important in communications to listen until the end
Sometimes it seems that we understand a person’s message, when in fact we need additional explanations – something all the more common when we are already familiar with the person. How often, during the conversation, are we automatically thinking for the speaker, to make premature conclusions and prepare a lightning response to the first statement said? And how often is our premature reaction false?
Our primary reaction, and the early opinions we form about the man and his message, are not always true. The offer may end with a twist or a question, a different suggestion or reaction.
This short animation made by Birdboxstudio tells a mild warning about the dangers of reaction too soon and the resultant quick fixes. Listening patiently helps to solve many issues and has an influence, in particular, on disarming hostile speakers.
Sometimes in complex crisis situations, the answer to your question or the resolution of the problem may lie in the issued statements of the speaker. Be patient! Do not make conclusions prematurely.
